Police encourage water safety with alcohol

Date: 09/27/2017 | Source: http://www.cbc.ca

Police across the province of Ontario have recently increased patrol in populated waterways, mainly looking to enforce strict regulations on impaired boating. Warm summer days are perfect for hanging out on the water, but with increased boat traffic in the warm summer months police have noticed a pattern of irresponsible boating. This is partly due to a lack of police boats on the water, as well as widespread misinterpretation of the laws and regulations surrounding alcohol and boating. As labor day approaches, make sure you are aware of these laws and regulations so that you can have an enjoyable and safe weekend on the water!

Police across Ontario patrol for drunk boaters over long weekend

Police across Ontario have been increasing patrols over the long weekend to crack down on impaired boating, part of a years-long campaign to change the culture on the water. Dubbed Operation Dry Water, the national campaign to prosecute and educate over the August long weekend is organized by the Canadian Safe Boating Council and is in its fifth summer.
