Habitats for fish are getting more protection with a new bill that passed recently.

Cottage Life said, "The Fisheries Act is designed to protect fish and fish habitats in all bodies of Canadian water, including streams, lakes, and oceans. The act regulates activities and construction near or in the water that has the potential to damage fish habitats or cause harmful substances to enter the water."

If you are putting in a dock or making changes to your shoreline you may have to pay attention to some new rules. Keep an eye on the news to see what changes this bill might bring!
