How to use your woodstove

A woodstove is a very attractive feature to some buyers in the cottage market! They emulate a cozy, warm feeling even when they aren't turned on. If you're using one for the first time this winter, here are some things to remember. Always use dry wood - if you're not sure you can purchase a device that checks the moisture. Try out a few different methods, like using the back wall or going "top down." Until you get in the habit of adding a new log at the right time, set alarms on your phone to remind you to check the fire! When you remove the ash, keep a layer of about 2.5cm for the next fire.
