How do you feel about the orange paint on the sidewalks?

Have you noticed orange paint on the sidewalks in Kawartha Lakes and Linsday?

MyKawartha reported, "During budget discussions at Kawartha Lakes council this past week, staff were asked if there was a way to cut down on the orange sidewalk paint, or at least tackle the issues more quickly after they’re identified."

While they might not look the best, it is a good way for the city to save money while notifying pedestrians of potential hazards.

The city said they will try their best to fix these hazards more quickly, but since there are a lot of road repairs in the spring as well it might take some time!

‘Orange-you’ happy they’re painting sidewalk tripping hazards?

“With the implementation of the program and in compliance with the (standards), along with a standalone capital program for fixing larger sections of sidewalk, Kawartha Lakes has reduced claims expenses specific to trip and fall claims,” a note from the city’s legal department states.City staf
