Cottagers have a lot to offer in the local community. The Star reported, "A report from the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations, which represents about 250,000 rural property owners who pay $800 million a year in property taxes, suggests there are opportunities to improve the vitality and viability of cottage communities by exploiting the talent, experience and wealth of cottagers." Cottagers not only bring their own money to contribute, they also promote tourism in the area when they rent out their summer homes. If you have a business or a talent, bring it to Kawartha Lakes!
