There are many different types of coastal style including American/cottage coastal, tropical island coastal, and Mediterranian coastal. “American coastal is often a mix of warm whites and ocean hues, reflective surfaces and soft furnishings with a touch of nautical decor. . . Whatever your coastal style, natural materials should influence your design, whether that’s wood, stone or water.” The professionals recommend not going overboard, so remember that little touches can make a big impact.
