Reminder to Kawartha Cottagers – Septic Disposal Rate Increase

Date: 01/18/2016
The city is reminding residents that in keeping with Bylaw 2015-216, the city is now in the second year of its planned increase to septic disposal rates. The initial bylaw was also amended in 2015 to allow for acceptance of hauled septage from septic and holding tanks outside of the city boundaries with discharge at the Lindsay Water Pollution Control Plant. Septic and holding tank waste for residents outside of the city will be charged an administration fee of $7.00 per tonne plus the standard septage waste rate. Residents from outside the municipality are required to register their holding tank and obtain a “septage generator number” with a one-time fee currently set at $50.00. The septic and holding tank disposal rates from By-Law 2015-216 are as follows: The septic and holding tank disposal rates For more information please contact: Rob Gamache, supervisor, regulatory compliance 705-324-9411, ext. 1141 rgamache@city.kawarthalakes.on.ca
