This classic and unique cottage on Upper Lake Dalrymple was designed to accentuate its spectacular sunset exposure setting and wonderful vistas across to undeveloped western shoreline. From the cottage’s moderately elevated footprint near the waters’ edge there are two large decks framed by mature trees that provide a very private and tree house-like setting to enjoy the views. The cottage itself has tremendous character – the original section was erected in 1946 using massive logs from a 19th Century Mennonite building. The living room, kitchen, dining and bedroom loft areas are located in this original section, and the thick log walls and granite fireplace provide an exceptionally cozy ambience. Subsequent additions have been sensitively integrated, including a newer family room with a walkout to the large second deck. The decks have built-in storage sheds and a workshop, all with power and lighting. The cottage is currently used on a three-season basis but could easily be returned to four-season use with the installation of a heated water line into the lake. Included in the sale is a 400 sq ft aluminum frame dock with cedar planking and a 4,000 lb electric boat lift with remote control and canopy. Access is via an unassumed road that is kept open year-round, and Lake Dalrymple is within an easy 90 minute drive from the GTA. Most furnishings are included.
