Taking knitting to Ghana

A local couple took their finger puppet knitting talents to Ghana last November. The Lindsay Hooks and Needles group made the toys for Elena and Robery Drury to take on their trip! "The finger puppets were also given to some of the children whose mothers were receiving pre-natal care. The infants who were born during the team’s visit also received beanies made by the loving hands of the local group." The puppets were well received and the people they visited also got access to medical care. What a great story!

Lindsay couple share their skills in Ghana

Elena and Robert Drury had a great time last November, helping local knitters point fingers in Ghana. That’s because, when the couple – Elena a retired nurse and Robert a physician – headed overseas as part of a medical mission group, their luggage included dozens of delightful little finger puppets, lovingly made by members of the Lindsay Hooks and Needles group. Last August, the Drury’s spoke were guest speakers at the group’s monthly meeting.
