Kawartha Lakes is planning to recognize five individuals for their contributions of celebrating our city's heritage. MyKawartha reported, “The Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee feels it’s important to recognize outstanding contributions towards the creation, preservation, enhancement and promotion of heritage in the City of Kawartha Lakes,” the committee stated in a release, The categories for the awards are architectural, archaeological, business leader, community, and heritage vision." If you're interested in attending, the presentation is at city hall on September 18 at 1pm.
The Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee will present the City’s new Osprey Heritage Awards during a special council meeting next month. The plan is to recognize five recipients with a commemorative hand-painted plaque for the inaugural Osprey Awards. Presentation takes place at City Hall at 1 p.m., September 18, 2018.
