Kelowna Capital News reported, "The Great Trail Treasure Hunt has hidden 200 treasure chests along an epic trail that spans 24,000 kilometres of Canada’s land and waterways. Treasure hunters can channel their inner pirate and seek the loot, while enjoying some breathtaking natural scenery on the world’s largest network of recreational trails."

That's a great excuse to get outside and explore if I've ever heard one!

Kawartha Now said, "Launching last year, this is Peterborough’s newest farmers’ market and it opened for the outdoor season on Saturday, May 4th. Sixty per cent of the vendors at the market are primary producers who have gone through a third party inspection process to verify they grow 100 per cent of what they sell."

Taste of Downtown is on June 1, there's a car show on June 16, and a Canada Day parade on July 1!

Kawartha 411 reported, "The walks take place during the first weekends in June corresponding to the peak nesting season for turtles, when turtles are travelling across or near roads and are at the highest risk for road injury. Walks are held on Saturday mornings from until noon and they help raise awareness and funding to save Ontario’s turtles."

The local turtle walks will be on June 8 and June 15. There will be prizes and ways to raise money or awareness about the issues turtles are facing. Click the link for more information.

There are farmers markets in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Fenlon Falls, Kinmount, and Balsam Lake. The days of the week vary by location but in Lindsay there are markets on Saturdays and Thursdays.
