The Winter Olympics are an exciting time! Many athletes come from Canada and even more train here, which explains why we are expected to perform well! The Star reported, "The seven gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals the Canadians are projected to take home would wallop the country’s previous top total of 26 medals at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver." Early gold medal winners have included Mikaël Kingsbury in men's moguls, team figure skating, and speed-skater Samuel Girard. We are sure proud to be Canadian!
