The new rules of the road

There are new rules of the road - Adopt-A-Road that is. MyKawartha.com reported, "Following discussions with the city insurance provider, staff recommended the municipality have volunteers sign a waiver form with a stronger indemnity statement, use clear bags, and follow safety measures such as wearing safety vests, using traffic cones and men at work signs." It's a great program and we love that volunteer safety is a priority! These stricter rules do not apply to cottage roads. 

Adopt-A-Road gets a new set of rules for Kawartha Lakes

Groups looking to continue with Adopt-A-Road commitments in Kawartha Lakes could find some new rules to follow to protect their safety and liability. A staff report presented to city council called for changes to the popular roadside cleanup efforts. On Tuesday (March 20), council adopted the recommendations from staff, with one exception.
