Festival of Trees Roast Beef Dinner

What: Festival of Trees roast beef dinner

When: Friday, November 11, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (there is a maximum of 80 tickets per sitting)

Where: Bobcaygeon Lawn Bowling Club at 72 Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon

Admission: $17.50 each (price does not include festival admission)

Festival of Trees Children’s Pancake Breakfast

What: Start your visit to the Festival of Trees with a full stomach! Come Saturday morning for a pancake breakfast at the Lawn Bowling Club, which is right beside the Kawartha Settlers’ Village. Enjoy pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. Children (or adults) can have their faces painted and enter the colouring contest

When: Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Where: Bobcaygeon Lawn Bowling Club at 72 Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon

Admission: $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child (price does not include festival admission)

Festival of Trees Twilight Auction

What: Come and experience the twilight auction in the beautifully decorated Murphy barn. Participation is easy! Visit the registration desk at 7:00 p.m. to pick up your numbered paddle and then wait for the bidding to begin

When: Saturday, November 12, 2016 – Registration starts at 7:00 p.m. and the auction begins at 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Murphy Barn at Kawartha Settlers’ Village

More about the Twilight Auction: The charity tree is a traditional feature of the live auction. Every year, Kawartha Settlers’ Village sponsors a single tree and proceeds from the sale support a worthy cause. This year, sale proceeds will benefit the Bobcaygeon Public School breakfast program

Festival of Trees – November 10, 11, 12, and 13, 2016

What: During this four-day event, you can stroll through this charming pioneer village and enjoy – and potentially win – the trees, wreaths, garlands, and other holiday items provided by corporate sponsors in the Kawartha Lakes. You can also take part in various seasonal activities at the historic buildings that make up the village

When: Friday, November 11, Saturday, November 12, and Sunday, November 13

Where: Kawartha Settlers’ Village at 85 Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon

Here are some of the festival activities at Kawartha Settlers’ Village: Santa’s Secret Shoppe: At Santa’s Secret Shoppe in the back of the Carriage House, children can purchase gifts for their family members (and even their pets)! Gifts are $2.00 to $5.00, wrapped, and ready to place under the tree. Bring your children to the Carriage House and meet a volunteer who will discuss a shopping budget and the planned recipients of your children’s gifts. The volunteer will escort your child to the back of the Carriage House and help them shop while staying within budget. Parents must wait out front as they are not allowed in Santa’s Secret Shoppe.

Christmas Boutique: Stop by the General Store, which has become a Christmas boutique. Inside, you will find ornate decorations, unique gifts for the whole family, as well as the village’s signature settlers’ soup, which makes a great stocking stuffer. The boutique is open during regular festival hours.

Craft Fair: Visit the Wray House where the Kawartha Settlers’ Village quilters have a collection of handmade items ready for sale.

Colouring Contest: Visit the School House and have your children participate in the colouring contest. The contest is open to children aged two to ten, and the winners will receive prizes.

A Visit with Santa: Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even Santa’s elves will visit the Festival of Trees. Bring your children to Toyland Showcase, so they can tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Your kids can visit with Santa on Friday – from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday – from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Children’s Workshop: Kids will love to stop by the basement of the Henderson House where volunteers will be on hand to help them with free arts and crafts activities. Hours: Friday – from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday – from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday – from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Memorial Tree: The memorial tree is a tradition at the Festival of Trees. When you purchase an ornament to take home and display on your tree, event organizers will place a memorial card on the festival tree in your loved one’s memory. You will find the memorial tree at the Muir House where the ornaments will be on sale for $5.00.

Fenelon Falls Salvation Army Christmas Luncheon and Bazaar

What: A Turkey à la King luncheon, including dessert and beverages, will only set you back $7.00. You can purchase baked goods, Christmas puddings, and preserves. There will also be vendors, a “new to you” table, and a craft sale at the bazaar

When: Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Norland Area Senior Citizens Bazaar

What: Enjoy lunch for just $6.00 - from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can also peruse or buy items from the following tables: a bake table, a draw table, a gently-used table, a try-your-luck table, and a craft table

Anne of Green Gables: The Musical

Victoria Manor Bazaar

What: A bazaar featuring vendors, crafts, baking, and canned goods. The event, which raises funds for the Victoria Manor residents council, helps to improve the quality of life of seniors who live at Victoria Manor. Residents vote on how they would like to spend the money raised, often choosing experiences such as day trips, new forms of entertainment or household items

Malisa Ashley Sousa and Lisa Sousa-Riley Present Crazy Christmas Craft and Vendor Show
