What: North Pigeon Lake ratepayers' association holds its annual general meeting

When: Saturday, July 23, from 10:00 a.m. to noon

Where: The Bobcaygeon Lawn Bowling Club at 72 Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon (close to the Kawartha Settlers’ Village)

More about the AGM: You’ll receive updates on the following issues: Boyd Island; the Trent-Severn Waterway; the quarries, Pigeon Lake; the association’s progress to date; and the Nogies Creek Waterway initiative. A barbecue will follow the AGM

Environment Round-Up Day

What: The City of Kawartha Lakes’ environment round-up day. (This is the last round-up day of the summer)

When: Saturday, July 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Where: Bobcaygeon Public School, 30 Balaclava Street in Bobcaygeon

Passport to Nature: Intro to Butterflies and Dragonflies

What: Let’s see what you can find using binoculars, a camera, and a net as you walk along a trail. Learn basic butterfly and dragonfly identification skills using an assortment of field guides

When: Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where: The Couchiching Conservancy, Carden Recreation Centre, 258 Lake Dalrymple Road, Lake Dalrymple

More about the event: Susan Blayney will be the leader. Possible species you will spot include butterflies such as blue, duskywing, swallowtail and viceroy, and dragonflies such as baskettail, whiteface, bluet, forktail, darner, and skimmer. Wear closed-toed, waterproof footwear, bring sun protection and lunch; a camera if you have one. There will be a limited supply of close-focus binoculars, nets, and bug jars available for use. Each participant will receive a Carden biodiversity checklist

“Sounds under the Stars” Summer Concert at the Hayloft

What: A summer concert at the Hayloft with the Checkmate band. Enjoy folk, pop, and classic rock

When: Saturday, July 23, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Gamiing Nature Centre, 1884 Pigeon Lake Road, Lindsay

Admission. $10.00 per person. Tickets are available at the door. Cash bar

A Psychic Fair at Kawartha Settlers’ Village

What: Kawartha Mediums take over Kawartha Settlers’ Village for a summer psychic fair 

When: Sunday, July 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Kawartha Settlers' Village at 85 Dunn Street in Bobcaygeon

Admission: $5.00 for adults. There is no admission charge for children under 12

More about the Fair: There will be psychic readings, energy healing, live music, a kids’ zone, delicious food, and local vendors

Concerts in the Park Lindsay- Featuring Northline

What: The band Northline will play in a free outdoor concert as part of Lindsay’s 25th annual Concerts in the Park series

When: Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Concerts take place Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. during July and August. You can also enjoy concerts on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.)

Where: Victoria Park, Lindsay, 210 Kent Street West. Grab your lawn chair and head to Victoria Park for some free live music in a beautiful outdoor setting
